Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Information

COVID-19 Vaccines

COVID-19 vaccines are effective at helping protect against severe disease and death from the virus that causes COVID-19, including known variants currently circulating. As with other routine vaccines,  side effects may occur after vaccination. These are normal and should go away within a few days.

Everyone ages 5 and older can get vaccinated against COVID-19. Find a COVID-19 vaccine location near you

Everyone ages 12 years and older can get a COVID-19 booster shot. Visit the CDC website for information on when a person can and should get a booster shot.

Vaccines are widely available at neighborhood pharmacies, doctor’s offices, and other private provider locations. Please contact the organization directly to learn about vaccine availability and schedule an appointment if required.

Need Transportation to Get a Vaccine?

If you have Medicaid and need transportation to get your vaccine, there is help. Florida Medicaid will take you to get the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost. All you need to do is set up a time to get your vaccine. Next, let your Medicaid plan know you need a ride and they will take care of the rest. View more information or call the Medicaid Helpline at 877-254-1055.

The State of Florida also encourages homebound individuals to sign up to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at their home by filling out the survey available here, emailing HomeboundVaccine@em.myflorida.com, or calling 866-779-6121.
