Walking with Mayor - Keeping Tampa Fit

Mayor Iorio invites you to join her on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Al Lopez Park for a fitness walk and free health screenings. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. The Mayor’s Walk provides a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to lead by example, to bring the kids out for a fun, community activity that is suitable for all ages and abilities. Don't wait in line, pre-register now by downloading the Authorization Form and mailing it to: Walking with the Mayor, 1420 N. Tampa Street, Tampa, FL 33602.

December 19, 2008 - In observance of holidays, the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department announced the following facilities will be closed on Thursday, December 25, Friday, December 26, 2008 and Thursday, January 1, 2009: community centers, playgrounds, art studios, pools, the Wayne C. Papy Athletic Center, the Barksdale Senior Citizen Center, Freedman Tennis Center and the Joe Abrahams Wellness Center. City parks will be open normal operating hours.  more...
