The Tampa Museum of Art is organizing a major symposium focused on the artwork and artists featured in its Arthur Albrecht Collection. A recent gift to TMA, the Albrecht Collection includes over 80 paintings and sculptures by the early students and protégées to emerge from the Centre d’Art in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Divided into four sessions—two morning and two afternoon sessions—the symposium will delve into a range of topics from the history of the Centre d’Art and its inaugural class of artists, to the conservation of Haitian art, and discussions on curating modern Haitian Art.
